606
Athletics

This Is More Than a Run. It’s a Revolution in Motion, Spirit, and Community

Cobb County's premier running club for youth endurance athletes.

Providing pathways to athletic success in distance, sprint, hurdle, and field events for all ages through competitive cross country and track seasons.

Developing the Whole Athlete

At 606 Athletics, we believe athletic success is measured holistically. A successful season isn't just defined by the medals you win. It's about athletes gaining a deeper understanding of competitive racing, developing greater discipline, and finishing the season mentally, spiritually, and physically stronger than when they started.

  • Encourage enriched character development through a gospel-centered coaching environment.

  • Provide a pathway to enhanced athletic success for experienced competitors in distance, mid-distance, sprinting, hurdles, and throwing events, with an emphasis on distance and mid-distance events.

  • Promote basic development and skill acquisition for new athletes by providing a fun yet challenging practice atmosphere.

At 606 Athletics, our goal is for younger athletes to begin developing as competitors, correct their running form, learn the rules of the sport, and have fun! To avoid burnout later in their athletic career, younger athletes are encouraged to enjoy the development process and are NOT necessarily expected to be top-tier competitors.

Older, more experienced athletes will practice far more rigorously with increased mileage and strength work. Performance expectations are much higher for older athletes, as many will advance into collegiate-like workout plans during our competition seasons.

From just starting to competing at the highest caliber, we're ready to meet our athletes at any level!

606 Athletics stands out as one of the only stand-alone (non-school-affiliated) running clubs in Cobb County to offer endurance-specific training for long-distance runners. With a dedicated distance coach, each endurance athlete receives a personalized training plan during our competition seasons.

Whether your athlete is looking to cut time off of their 3k PR or just wants to finish the local 5k down the street, our USATF-certified distance coach can help!

Coach Bowling and Coach Vinny have ample experience competing at a high level, with Coach Bowling competing for Asbury University's T&F and XC programs on scholarship during his collegiate tenure, and Coach Vinny receiving multiple offers from schools across Georgia, including several Division 1.

Over his running career spanning 19 years, Coach Bowling has gained experience competing in and/or coaching the 10k, 8k, 5k, 3k, 3200m, 1600m, 1500m, 800m, 4x800, 4x400, 300m hurdles, 100/110m hurdles, and shot put.

Coach Vinny has experience competing in and/or coaching the 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, long jump, and triple jump.
